Where do you start when you want to present at conference? How do you come up with that idea that will wow your audience? How do you choose the appropriate format for your idea? If you've taken part in MLA's presentation and visual aid webinars this summer, you're ready for this step. You're confident enough to make that great presentation. Now learn how to create that proposal that gets accepted! And if you didn't join us for webinars this summer, join us now! This is a stand-alone session that does not have any prerequisites.

Maps for Genealogists
Emily Jaycox, Librarian, Missouri History Museum Library and Research Center
There’s much more to maps than finding directions. Historic maps depicting former boundaries and landmarks can help you understand your ancestors' experience more fully. Several specialized types of maps, including plats, fire insurance maps and geological survey maps, can help you locate new facts about your family history. Pairing maps with other primary sources can yield even more information and help you feel that you are “walking where they walked.”
